DATA for Cities
Urban mobility has become a critical issue today, with rising congestion and air and noise pollution. In the midst of this challenge, data is playing an increasingly crucial role in improving transportation systems and making cities more liveable. However, the full potential of data in urban mobility can only be realised through effective data sharing between different stakeholders.
In recent years, Cities have undergone a significant digital transformation, and one of their critical challenges has been the access, management and sharing of data with other key stakeholders. Data exchange is essential for innovation and development in the mobility sector, but the lack of a standardised and secure framework for data sharing has been a significant barrier to collaboration and innovation. However, this challenge is set to change with the deployment of Mobility Data Spaces (MDS).
The session would like to explore the significance of data sharing and its impact on urban mobility, as well as the challenges and opportunities that come with it.
