PLD Space was founded in 2011 with the aim of facilitating European access to space. In October 2023, the company successfully launched MIURA 1, making PLD Space the company that launched Europe’s first private rocket. PLD Space is currently working on the development of the MIURA 5 orbital launcher, whose maiden flight will take place in 2025.

In a context where Europe is facing an unprecedented space access crisis, the private sector led by PLD Space, is set to play a decisive role in European access to space based on efficiency, reliability and delivery capability.
